Case Study - Ground Zero, NY

Sprung Instant Structures was called upon to supply a number of structures shortly after the devastating events of September 11, 2001. The following is an excerpt from a letter written about the structures at Ground Zero, New York.

“It has almost been four full months since the events in NYC have changed all our lives. For the folks working at Ground Zero and the Fresh Kills Landfill the work still continues, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The winter has settled into the New England area and I can report to you with great certainty that the structures being leased from the Sprung Company have been a "Truly God sent" gift human kindness. Safely sheltered from the elements the work progresses night and day, rain or shine, and soon the snow will be upon them.

Surprisingly the mild weather to date has helped the recovery efforts. During the last delivery of aid to Fresh Kills, Amy Gilbert reports that the NYPD feel that the clean-up efforts should approach an end sometime in late May of 2002. I feel that we should discuss extending the leases on these structures at least until the end of June 2002, just to be safe.

These structures have been the working labs, meal areas, changing/training areas, search areas, and all to often the place where investigators share their common grief of lost colleagues. All of this would not be possible if not for our wonderful relationship Phil Sprung and their company's commitment to our common humanitarian efforts both here at home and abroad.”

Sprung structures provide an innovative, cost effective building alternative which dramatically accelerates construction time lines while providing complete flexibility for the future.
